Whovians have know for a while that this was to be Peter Capaldi, the 12th Doctor’s last season. As always there was much speculation as to who the next Doctor would be, and as has been they case, in recent regenerations [some] fans were hoping to see a woman in the role. It seems only yesterday Whovians were [not] so patiently awaiting the announcement of who the 12th Doctor would be. Well guess what? Four years, and a Peter Capaldi, later we find ourselves once again awaiting the announcement of who will step into the iconic role. This morning the BBC dropped the news that the announcement of Doctor number 13 would be happening THIS Sunday, July 16th, and a nifty little trailer to go with it. Click to check out the video.

Back in January we reported that Gillian Anderson would star as Anna Pavlovna in BBC’s newest adaptation of War and Peace. It has been more than 40 years since the series starring Anthony Hopkins hit the airwaves and the network is now ready to bring us a four-part miniseries set to air on Lifetime, A&E Network, and History in the states come January.

Work sure has not been in low demand for Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery. Already, with the show soon wrapping on it’s final episode, Dockery has been slated to star in a pilot for TNT called Good Behaviorto play the lead in  Les Liaisons Dangereus at the Donmar Warehouse this winter and now to star in the film The Sense of An Ending based on a novel by Julian Barnes. Stan Lee to join forces with Carnival Films on ‘Lucky Man’

For Downton Abbey fans who are also Marvel fans, this is super cool news we have here. Stan Lee, our generalissimo, is partnering with Carnival Films (producers of acclaimed series Downton Abbey) for a ten episode series called Lucky Man. Apparently, Stan Lee has had the idea for this series for a while and his company POW! Entertainment is going to collaborate with Carnival on the project.

We posted a few days ago about the short film Gillian Anderson wrote, directed and starred in called The Departure. The host website, The Guardian, did a live web chat with Gillian earlier today where she delved into some serious matters, told us a joke or two and overall made us respect and adore her even more.

“There seems to be an upswing of negative perception about feminism. And on the one hand, it’s our own fault. And I guess I’d like to be a part of a movement towards it not being a dirty word or having negative connotations or being taboo. Can we talk about what’s not working, without blame, can we focus on moving forward?”
